During the last four days of October, we had fairly nice weather. Meaning, that the wind kept rising in strength and calming down around 10 o'clock in the morning (7-11 knots). The water temperature was from 73º to 86ºF. However, fishing during those days was a blast! Our captains were able to catch Dorados, Red Snappers, Rooster Fish, Seabass, Trigger Fish, Barrilete, and even two Sierras! A few of these were caught around Punta Lobo, while others a little far to the west. Not to mention, close to San Bruno heading towards the North and to the Northeast.

As for the first week of November, we had winds of 9-15 knots and slight changes in water temperature. Although, you could feel the weather changing because of the chilly air early in the morning and late afternoon. During these few days, we were able to fish Dorados, Barrilete, and Trigger Fish. The bait used, same as always, was Mackerel and Sardine alive.

During the last week of September and the first two of October, we have had days gone smoothly with 4 to 11 knots of wind with the water temperature of 76º to 86ºF. The weather had been humid and hot given to the hurricanes forming nearby. However, we did have days with North winds were the water became too wavy and made it uncomfortable for some clients to fish (they became seasick). Other than that, the water was very calm, still even, during the early hours of the morning. The captains usually take fishing rods with small and medium reels, some with double traction, for fishing. However, it mostly depends on the information our clients give on what fish they would preferably want to catch. Anyway, going to the exciting part, We had the blessing of capturing many Dorados during our fishing trips! Unfortunately, this year they were not as big as last years`. They weighed from  8 to 15 kilos. These were captured around Punta Colorada. We were also fortunate enough to catch a few Rooster Fish, Grouper, Sea Bass, Trigger Fish, Blackfin Tuna, and Barilete fish. The baits that were utilized were Mackerel and Sardin (alive). I was not able to catch up on the spots fished for these, but I will make sure to ask next time! What was noticed was that 20 - 24 pieces of bait (around 40USD) were not enough anymore to last a 7-hour fishing trip during the first weeks of October. Many captains said it was because the Trigger Fish would eat away the bait not to mention because of all the commotion going underwater. Either way, everyone was much happier with 40 pieces of bait!
